Gurwin is an award-winning strategic communications professional with extensive experience creating, scaling, and managing organizations and implementing AI-based solutions. He is known for simplifying complex ideas for mass audiences and crafting strategies that align communications, public affairs, and external relations to deliver measurable results.

Most recently, Gurwin served as a Pod Lead at Mercor Intelligence, where he oversaw and calibrated the work of 20 expert reviewers that trained frontier AI models for a leading AI lab on the top occupations across the U.S. economy, as well as evaluate outputs across finance, investment banking, and private equity.

Before that, Gurwin was Vice President of Communications for BlackRock Investment Stewardship, where he led drafting of the unit's flagship publications, directed the rationale behind 20+ high-profile proxy vote bulletins, and led generative AI adoption across the business. As Strategic Communications Director at FGS Global, he led message development, media relations, and issue advocacy for financial, energy, and international affairs clients including Elliott Management, Bloomberg, and the Republic of Ecuador.

Gurwin began his career on the Obama re-election presidential campaign before serving as a special assistant and advisor to Ambassador Vetter at The White House on the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), engaging think tanks, trade organizations, and Congress to advance the administration's trade policy.

He co-founded We Are Sikhs, a civil rights campaign that raised over $2.5M, generated 500+ earned media placements, and earned the industry's highest honors, a PR Week Award for Best Cause, two Shorty Awards for Best in Humor and Best Media Partnership, and two Webby Award Honoree distinctions in Comedy and Diversity & Inclusion. Through the campaign, he led brand partnerships with Funny or Die, PBS, the NBA, the UFC, and Ben & Jerry's, resulting in co-sponsored events and content. He has also served as Director of Growth at American Bass Audio, where he grew DTC revenue 17x to over $2M annually while deploying AI across marketing, operations, and customer support to build systems that scale.

Gurwin is an executive member of the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS) and a judge for the Anthem Awards. He holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BA in Finance from The Ohio State University, where he graduated summa cum laude.
