Todd is an external affairs executive with a record of managing complex political, community, and reputational risk for some of the most well-regarded companies in the global extractives sector.

Todd led the political risk management of some of the largest mining projects built in the 21st century. In doing so, he has built a deep understanding of the interconnections and dependencies among companies, governments, and the communities in which they operate, as well as what it takes to succeed.

At both Newmont Corporation and Fortescue, Todd led efforts to redirect each company's focus toward engagement with the US government as it began to recognize the importance of critical minerals to the future of national security and economic prosperity.

At Newmont, Todd also led government relations and communications strategies for two successful divestments in 2024: the $1B sale of the Akyem Mine (Ghana) to Zijin Mining, and the $450M sale of the Telfer/Havieron Mine (Australia) to Greatland Gold.

Before working in mining, Todd had a career in the Australian government, working across various administrations on significant projects, infrastructure, and natural resource planning.
